LEICA M2 "BLACK PAINT" (1958) + Summaron 35/2.8

SOLD

Leica M2 "button" from 1958 + Summaron 35/2.8

The particularity of this Leica M2 is to combine a mechanical condition close to new with strong brassed patina.

It is indeed quite rare to lacquer a Leica M2 from 1958 in such a condition:

> The very flexible curtains seem new.

> Before lacquering, the chrome fasteners had absolutely no signs of wear.

> The viewfinder eyepiece (which has not been repainted) shows no signs of wear.

> The receiver coil shows no signs of wear.

> The sole and the hood did not require any straightening or coating before the black lacquer,
which is really rare.

> The perfectly intact original Vulcanite required no repair.

> Very good rangefinder with good contrast.

The body, which worked perfectly, still had a complete overhaul:

> Cleaning and lubricating the shutter axes, the cocking and the slow speed module.

> Regluing the chamber felts.

> Cleaning the viewfinder/rangefinder.

> Adjusting the speeds and the curtain brake.

Like many M2s of this first generation, it is particularly smooth when cocked and silent when triggered.

Original Leica body cap

and flash plugs in white plastic (original) or in patinated black lacquered brass.
