Leica M2 (1961) and Summaron 35mm (1960)

SOLD

1961 Leica M2 and 1960 Summaron 35mm (dual-mount lens)

1961 Leica M2 and 1960 Summaron 35mm (dual-mount lens)

This Leica M2 and 35mm Summaron lens have been used together for many decades, and they form a very cohesive pair.

Therefore, I am initially offering the set to a more attractive price.

1961 Leica M2, entirely black lacquered with a light brass patina by Jacques Fontana.

The camera body is entirely black lacquered with a light patina that reveals some brass underneath.

- The Vulcanite strap has been replaced with black grained leather.

- The black lacquered brass strap lugs have been replaced and are therefore new.

- The camera body has been serviced; its operation is particularly smooth with a muted shutter sound.

- The curtains are in perfect condition.

- Very good rangefinder with a clearly visible patch.

(The rangefinder required a thorough overhaul.)

- "Brass2Black" lacquered brass flash socket caps are included.

€3600 (instead of €3800) with the 35mm Summaron dual-mount lens

or €2300 for the camera body only.

Six-month warranty.

Shipping included for France and EU countries.

2.8/35mm Summaron M (dual-mount) from 1960 with a light patina by Jacques Fontana.

Dual-mount model: for M bayonet mount and can also be mounted on screw-mount Leica cameras

once the original M mount ring is removed after unscrewing the locking screw.

Lens is in perfect working order with a particularly meticulous finish:

The two brass parts (mount ring and release lever) have been lacquered in black with a brass patina, while the four aluminum rings have been anodized and painted black with a light patina on the paint and edges.

> For optimal grip, all the aluminum rings were anodized in black before being lacquered in black.

> The brass mount edge where the red dot is located, as well as the release lever, have been dechromed and lacquered with a light brass patina.

> Optically, there are a few very superficial and inconsequential scratches on the front element. Tests performed with a Leica M240 are very good.

> Perfectly aligned (which isn't always the case), the focus is achieved precisely where it should be. > Lens ramp cleaned and greased

> Smooth bearings.

€3600 (instead of €3800) with the Leica M2

or €1500 for the 35mm Summaron lens alone
